"…The objectives of the meeting included: the discussion of the different conceptual and methodological approaches to assessing the performance of the health systems; to take stock of the different country and regional experiences in the Americas related to health system's performance assessment; and to identify critical issues for furthering the conceptual and methodological development of a framework, for the measurement of the performance of health systems, which could be applied by countries on a regular basis and reported to WHO periodically.
