This report reviews the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) experiences in health cooperation with United Nations agencies, bilateral and multilateral partners, and philanthropic foundations and other civil society organizations. It also discusses global trends in health development cooperation and PAHO's strategic priorities for 2003-2007.

As a proud member of the international and inter-American communities, the Pan American Health Organization strives to reflect the best qualities of the countries it represents and to promote the highest standards in the field of public health. The last hundred years have seen tremendous progress, but there is still much work to do. As increasing globalization brings new issues to the fore, partnering with others will become even more important to face the health challenges that lie ahead. PAHO invites its partners to join in celebrating 100 years of health in the Americas, and to continue the shared commitment to improving the lives of all people in the Western Hemisphere.
