The IEA became affiliated with the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS) in 1955 and has been represented on its executive committee periodically.In 1966 the Association was recognized by the World Health Organization as a Non-Governmental Organization. In addition to representation at the World Health Assembly this affiliation has contributed to excellent working relationships with WHO in the planning and execution of our education programmes and meetings and in the planning and production of several publications
