The subject is not just the Internet or the World Wide Web but the entire range of technologies that are reshaping communications, and the implications of those technologies for business and the economy, politics and governance, and ultimately, for how societies organize. The impact of the information revolution touches all of society, and so the different dimensions cannot really be separated. For instance, the role of government is eminently political but also is critical to the business environment.
