"...A strategy for research and development for public health was announced in "Saving Lives: Our Healthier Nation". The strategy has been developed by and for the main founders of research and development for public health. It is based on a broad view of public health and takes a strategic rather than topic-based approach to tackling the issues. It aims both to extend and develop the evidence base, and to improve the use of the knowledge that we already have. The strategy considers users of research and their needs, particularly in relation to the current evidence base; mechanisms for prioritizing; research capacity and methodology; information requirements; and coordination between founders..."
