Ethics and human subjects research: US and international issues

This course will introduce students to ethical principles and formal codes of ethics, to key ethical issues that arise in international research and US and ultimately will be cased-based to enable students to work through ethical challenges posed in human research. The course is geared toward US and international professionals and students who conduct research domestically or in developing country settings and toward those who sit on IRB's/research ethics boards. Evaluation is based on case study exercises and class participation.
