This paper examines the growth experience of Latin America and discusses future prospects. Growth decompositions are used to look at the behavior of total factor productivity and examine differences across regions of theworld and within Latin America.

Objective:
The purpose of the Global Research Project is to explain the growth experience of the seven regions participating in the Global DevelopmentNetwork. Four thematic papers will be written for each region on the following topics as they relate to Growth: Sources and Determinants,Markets, Microeconomics and Political Economy.
