Clinical Pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood, fluids or body tissues in the living animal in order to identify underlying disease by changes in analytes or cytologic characteristics of these samples. It encompasses hematology, chemistry, cytology, immunology, and urinalysis.The Clinical Pathology Laboratory at Cornell University is part of the New York State Animal Health Diagnostic Center and the Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Science. We receive samples for testing from researchers and veterinarians throughout New York State and the USA (even as far as Bermuda) through the Diagnostic Laboratory. We also provide diagnostic or testing service for the Cornell University Hospital for Animals and researchers affiliated with Cornell University.
